What is boudoir photography?

Boudoir photography is a style of photography meant to show off the sensual and intimate side. Mostly women tend to participate in this kind of photography but sometimes men do it as well. Many people book a boudoir photoshoot to help empower, uplift and see a side of themselves they don’t typically see in their everyday lives.

Boudoir translates to “women’s private sitting room” in french and helped inspire this style of photography. Boudoir studios are typically set up like bedrooms but many photographers have branched out and make more unique custom sets and even photograph outdoors.
